Company investing $2.6 million to expand Manning, S.C. facility

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Advanta Industries, Inc. (Advanta), a company that specializes in material handling applications, is expanding its existing Clarendon County facility, which operates as Advanta Southeast, LLC. The company is investing $2.6 million to create 26 new jobs over the next five years.

Established in 1997 and headquartered in Petersburg, Mich., Advanta is a family-owned firm that serves the automotive, industrial, energy and defense industries. In 2010, the company opened its first Palmetto State facility in Duncan, S.C., and, three years later, relocated to a larger facility in Manning, S.C.

In an effort to meet increased customer demand, Advanta is expanding its existing operations in Manning by constructing a 30,000-sqaure-foot addition to the current facility. Located at 1799 Ram Bay Road, the company also plans to upgrade the plant’s equipment by installing a new sheet and tube laser for cutting all types of steel.

In total, the expansion is expected to result in the creation of more than 25 new jobs. Hiring for the new positions is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2016. Those looking to join the Advanta team should send resumes to jobs@advanta.net or stop in and complete an application. For more information on the company, visit www.advantaindustries.com.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved a $200,000 grant to Clarendon County to assist with the costs of real property improvements related to the project.
