The Recycling Market Development Advisory Council supports the economic growth of South Carolina's recycling industry through building recycling markets, increasing material recovery and promoting the recycling value chain.

The Council are Governor-appointed members representing a variety of recycling industry, government, higher education, solid waste and citizen affiliations.
 

Trade Publications

The Recycling Market Development Program brochure highlights the department's programs and Recycling Market Development Advisory Council initiatives.

The South Carolina Department of Commerce Recycling Directory is an online searchable database of recycling-related companies in the state. Companies in the directory include processors, haulers, brokers, remanufacturers, collectors and  other recycling market participants. 

 

Trade Associations and Councils 

RecyclonomicsSC is an organization that brings together recycling businesses and industry that utilize recycled materials in their manufacturing process. RecyclonomicsSC helps promote recycling markets and position recycling businesses as competitive, viable participants in developing jobs, retaining local community employers, generating tax revenues and increasing economic development opportunities. RecyclonomicsSC is supported by the South Carolina Council on Competiveness.

The Carolina Recycling Association established and maintained by a community of people - multi-national corporations, small businesses, local government, state government agencies, and individuals across the Carolinas who are committed to waste reduction and recycling efforts.

The Southeast Recycling Development Council unites industry, government and non-government organizations to promote sustainable recycling in the Southeast. The Council accomplishes this mission by directing action to boost recovery, providing workshops to educate recycling officials, communicating with elected officials and researching and reporting to gauge the current recycling market.
